Supporting schools, clubs, and after school programs by providing the instruments and gear they need to teach, learn, and grow.
Supporting private music educators and organizations who offer instruction to underserved communities without school-based arts education.
Supporting early-career musicians with direct access to instruments, recording equipment, and essential gear to advance their creative development.
Across D.C. and Maryland, many schools are facing steep budget challenges, and arts programs are often among the first to be cut. In 2025, the federal government rescinded over $400 million in previously approved education reimbursements to Maryland, leaving school systems scrambling to adjust.
At the same time, automation and AI continue to reshape the workforce. The skills nurtured through the arts—creativity, empathy, collaboration, and expression—are becoming increasingly vital. We need more access to these experiences, not less.
Changing budgets and federal priorities is hard. Changing what happens in our communities isn't. SoundLocal Foundation was created to be a vehicle for tactical, hyper-targeted change, ensuring that music and arts education don't fall through the cracks. We work directly with educators, artists, and schools to keep creative programs alive and accessible, one classroom, one student, and one instrument at a time.
Your donation helps us expand access to music and arts education for students across Washington DC and Maryland. Every contribution makes a direct impact on the lives of young artists and musicians.
